FINE, WWII BRITISH NO.4, MK.I SMLE RIFLE, .303 BRITISH
Description :
Here is a British No.4, Mk.I Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle made at Fazakerly and chambered for the .303 British cartridge. This was the standard British battle rifle of the 2nd World War. The rifle is in fine condition. It had a Factory Through Repair (FTR) in 1954 and was undoubtedly refinished at that time. It retains more than 90% of its factory black paint-like finish. There is some finish loss at the muzzle where a bayonet is fixed, some on the bolt handle knob, and some small scrapes on the magazine. The bolt and rear sight face are bright. The mechanics are excellent with a mismatched bolt. The bore is excellent, bright, and shiny. The stock is in fine condition with a small armory repair at the toe and heel of the butt. There is an original plastic oiler in the butt and a military web sling in fine condition. This is a clean, good-looking SMLE. Stock no. 29533
