This is a No.I, Mk.III* Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle manufactured at Rifle Factory Ishapore, India in 1954. It is chambered for the British .303 cartridge. These Ishapore No.I, Mk.III* rifles were the last of the type ever produced. This rifle is in fine condition with more than 90% of the dark black finish remaining on the rifle. The magazine shows more finish wear with only about 60% of its finish remaining. The rifle has some finish wear on the high points and the middle barrel band has been polished to the copper metal. The mechanics are excellent. The bore is excellent as well, bright and shiny, The stock is very fine with just a tiny ding or two from use. Included is an original British web sling in fine condition. This is a nice Mk.III* with a great bore. Stock no. 29539
