This is a Winchester Model 54 High Power Sporter manufactured in 1936. It is chambered for the .257 Roberts cartridge. Model 54 rifles in this chambering are rare. The Model 54 was made between 1925 and 1936 but was only offered in .257 Roberts in 1935-1936. This rifle is in fine condition with about 90% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is some light rust speckling on the barrel, a little heavier towards the muzzle. The trigger guard and magazine floor plate have about 50% of their blued finish remaining. The butt plate shows finish wear as well. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The checkered walnut stock is in fine condition with just a few tiny dings from use. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman adjustable rear peep sight and a globe front in very fine condition. This is a very nice Model 54 in a rare chambering. Stock no. 29034
