ARGENTINE F.M.A.P. MODEL 1909 CAVALRY CARBINE, 7.65X53MM

This is an Argentine Model 1909 Cavalry Carbine Manufactured at the Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles (F.M.A.P.). These were produced in Argentina at either Rosario or Santa Fe. These rifles and carbines served into the 1960's. This carbine is in fair condition. About 20% of the blue remains with a heavy sprinkling of rust specks overall. The stock furniture is a smooth brown. The receiver, originally bright, has a sprinkling of rust. The bolt handle is a smooth brown and there is a bit of active rust on the bolt. The butt plate has a heavy brown patina. The gun works well mechanically, but the bolt is mismatched. The bore is truly horrible. I tried to think of a way to sugar coat it, but... no. It is heavily rusted and dark. Some scrubbing should help but I don't see any matches in its future. The stock is in fair condition and is numbered to the gun. A pretty good-sized chunk has broken off of the toe and been glued back on. Otherwise, there are a few small dings from use. If you want a beater carbine for the pickup truck, this one just might fit the bill! Stock no. 29254
