This is an original, Remington-Smoot New Model No.2 Revolver chambered for the .30 Rimfire Short cartridge. Remington produced these from 1877 to 1885. Only about 3000 of these were made in .32 Rimfire or .30 Rimfire. It is believed that only about 600 were made in .30 caliber. This little revolver is in fine to very fine condition with more than 95% of its factory nickel finish remaining. There is a light speckling of oxidation, heavier on the left side of the gun. The mechanics are excellent. The bore looks good, just a little dark. The black checkered hard rubber grips are in fine condition with no chips or cracks. These revolvers are fairly scarce especially in decent condition. Stock no. 28712
