Description :
|
This is a Dutch Model 1895 Mannlicher Infantry Rifle made at Hembrug in 1916. It is chambered for the 6.5x53mm Rimmed cartridge. The Dutch went straight from their big-bore, black powder Beaumont rifle to a modern smokeless small caliber rifle. The M1895 would serve them well until after World War II. This rifle is in very good condition with about 50% of its blued finish remaining. The barrel has been cleaned and has little blue remaining. The magazine housing, rear sight, and barrel bands have much of their blue remaining. The receiver has a steel patina with a speckling of oxidation. The bolt is mismatched and remains armory bright. The butt plate is mostly brown. The mechanics are excellent. The bore is in fine condition with strong rifling. The stock has been lightly sanded and given a clear coat. It is in fine condition. You don't often see the Dutch M1895. Stock no. 29263
