VERY FINE U.S. MODEL 1903 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE, WWII REBUILD, .30-06

This is an original, U.S. Model 1903 Rifle manufactured at Springfield Armory in 1918 and chambered for the .30-06 Government cartridge. The rifle was rebuilt for service in WWII. It does not appear to have been refinished, the only change being the WWII replacement stock. The front sling swivel has been replaced with a stacking swivel. The rifle is in very fine condition with more than 95% of its parkerized finish. The single heat-treated receiver has a mottled black finish. Please note that this is a low numbered receiver and not double heat treated. While it has survived two World wars, there is a chance that the receiver is brittle and could fail. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a very fine bore. The Springfield barrel is dated "1-18". The WWII stock is in very fine condition with a strong "FJA" cartouche. There is a small chip at the toe. This is a beautiful example of the WWII '03 Springfield. Stock no. 29238
