VERY FINE WWII GERMAN K98K INFANTRY RIFLE BY J.P. SAUER, 8MM
Description :
Here is an original, WWII German K98k Mauser Infantry Rifle manufactured by J.P. Sauer und Sohn Gewehrfabrik of Suhl, Germany. This rifle was produced in late 1942. The K98k was the standard German battle rifle of the Second World War. This rifle is in very fine condition but does have a mis-matched bolt. All other parts of the rifle are matching, and the parts of the bolt assembly match the bolt. Undoubtedly, the bolt got switched during the GI's transit home. The gun retains about 80% of its factory blued finish with light overall finish wear from handling. The extractor has a reddish hue. The butt plate remains armory bright. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The bore is in very fine condition. The laminated stock is very fine with just a couple of small dings from use. There is a little bit of chipping at the toe of the butt where it meets the butt plate. Included is the rifle's original leather sling in very good condition. This is a good looking K98k in very nice condition. Stock no. 28830
