1903 MFG., FIRST GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY, .38-40
Description :
This is an early smokeless era, First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver manufactured in 1903 and chambered for the .38-40 (.38 WCF) cartridge. It has a 4 3/4" barrel. All numbers are matching, the gun has had an old refinish and is now nickel plated. An included factory letter shows that the revolver was originally blued and was shipped to Hibbard, Bartlett, Spencer & Company of Chicago, Illinois on May 20, 1903. The gun is in fine condition with nearly 100% of its nickel finish remaining. The gun works very well mechanically and has a very fine bore and chambers. The black, hard rubber grips have the rampant Colt emblem. They are in fine condition with no chips or cracks. There are two small abrasions on the right grip that go through the checkering. Included is an early holster made by L.D Turner of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is in very fine condition with tight stitching and beautiful stamp work. It is basket weave decorated with hand stamped border edging. This is a nice old Colt that looks great. Stock no. 28705
