This is a Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector, 2nd Model Revolver. It is chambered for the S&W .44 Special cartridge. Because of a third lock at the yoke, these were known as the "Triple Lock". They were made from 1915 to 1940, with this one probably dating to around 1920. This is a nickel plated, double action revolver with a 6 1/2" barrel. It is in very fine condition with about 98% of its factory nickel finish remaining. There are just a few tiny specks on the finish. The hammer and trigger retain all of their case colors. The front sight blade, however, has been filed at the back of the blade. The revolver has an excellent bore, chambers, and mechanics. The grips are modern replacements. They are faux ivory with S&W medallions. The sling swivel is also a replacement. It looks as if it might be from a Victory Model. A few hiccups notwithstanding, this is a great early Triple Lock.
