GERMAN WWII MAUSER K98K RIFLE, ALL MATCHING, 1941 MFG., 8MM

Here is an original, WWII, German K98k Rifle manufactured by Mauser ("byf" code) in 1941. The K98k was the standard German battle rifle of WWII. It is chambered for the 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) cartridge. This rifle is in very fine condition. It is all matching except for the handguard, which has been replaced. The cleaning rod is not numbered. The rifle retains about 95% of its factory blued finish. There is some finish loss on the rear sight sleeve on the left side. The bottom of the trigger guard is turning brown. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in fine condition, numbered to the gun, with just a few small dings and scratches from use. Butt plateas were made by contractors and this one was made by Johannes Grossfuss, Metall- u. Lackierwarenfabrik, Doebeln, Saxony ("bpr" code). It is dated 1941. As stated, the hand guard appears to be a replacement. This is a nice, early Mauser K98k. Stock no. 28214
