Here is an original, antique Swiss Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889 Infantry Rifle produced at the Eidgenössische Waffenfabrik in Bern. It is chambered for the 7.5x53.5mm cartridge. These rifles replaced the Vetterli in Swiss service. This rifle is in very fine condition with matching numbers. It retains about 90% of its factory blued finish. There is some light finish wear at the muzzle, on the barrel bands, and on the magazine. The butt plate has very little finish remaining. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in fine condition with a few small dings and scratches from use. Included is an original muzzle/front sight protector. This is a fine example of the first Swiss Schmidt-Rubin straight-pull rifle. Stock no. 28060
