Here is an original, Danish Model 1889/10 Krag-Jorgensen Rifle manufactured by Gevaerfabriken Kjobenhavn in 1892. It is chambered for the 8x58mm Rimmed cartridge. It has had the modifications of 1908 and 1910. These included a longer range rear sight for the new spitzer bullet and the addition of a safety behind the bolt handle. The Danish Krag differs from its Norwegian and American counterparts in several ways. The most obvious is the magazine cover that hinges forward rather than down. The barrel also has a jacket similar to the German M1888 Commission Rifle. This rifle is in very good condition. It has about 15% its original blued finish remaining, mostly on the receiver and magazine cover. The remainder of the gun has a steel patina. The rifle has all matching parts and the mechanics are excellent. The bore is in very fine condition. The stock is in very good condition with the usual scattering of small dings and scratches associated with use. It retains its brass Unit disc, which is marked 2FAR/2050. This is a nice untouched Danish Krag with all matching numbers. Stock no. 27618
