VERY FINE SWEDISH MODEL 1896 MAUSER INFANTRY RIFLE W/ MARKSMAN REAR SIGHT

This is an original, Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Infantry Rifle manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1917. It is chambered for the 6.5x55mm cartridge. The standard Swedish battle rifle of the WWI era, the Model 1896 rapidly gained a reputation for superb accuracy. This rifle is in very fine to excellent condition with all matching numbers. The rifle retains about 98% of its factory blued finish with a touch of finish wear at the muzzle. The bolt is finished armory bright and the finish is perfect. The alloy butt plate is a pewter gray. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in very fine conditiion with just a few tiny dings from use. There is some green paint on the butt plate and a tiny dab of green on the toe of the stock. The rifle is fitted with the marksman rear sight and retains the original metal sight cover. Also included is a leather shooting sling in excellent condition. This is a superb example of the Model 1896 Rifle. Stock no. 27533
