SPRINGFIELD US M-1 GARAND RIFLE, .30-06, CMP GUN W/PAPERS

This is an original, US M-1 Garand Rifle manufactured at Springfield Armory in 1951. It was sold through the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) in May of 2021 as a field grade rifle. The M-1 was the standard American battle rifle in WWII and Korea. This rifle is in fine condition with about 80% of its factory parkerized finish remaining. There is finish loss on the gas cylinder and on the butt plate. The receiver has a very light gray parkerize. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a shiny bore. The bore measures 2+ at the muzzle and 4+ at the throat. The stock is in very good condition with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. It has been given a coat of linseed oil. The rifle has a mixture of parts. The trigger group is made by International Harvester. Still, this is a good, solid, shootable M-1 Garand. Included is the CMP certificate, instruction booklet, and box. Stock no. 27587
