VERY FINE, WWII US REMINGTON MODEL 11 RIOT GUN
Description :
This is an original, WWII Remington Model 11 Riot Gun made in 1943 and chambered for 2 3/4" 12 gauge shot shells. This gun is from the first block of serial numbers procured by the US Government. These guns featured a 20" barrel with a cylinder bore and a 5-shot tubular magazine. This gun is one of those purpose built for the military with a wartime finish and US Military markings. It is marked on the barrel and receiver with "US" and the Ordnance Bomb. The left side of the butt is stamped with the Ordnance Wheel and the inspector initials "F.J.A." for Frank J. Atwood. The shotgun is in excellent condition with nearly 100% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is a tiny scratch on the right side of the receiver. The bore and mechanics are excellent, as is the walnut stock. There are just a couple of tiny dents in the wood of the stock. The inspector's cartouche is clear. There are tiny importer marks on the left side of the barrel under the chamber markings. They are quite unobtrusive and I almost missed them. This is a great example of a WWII US military riot gun.
