Item :	MARBLE'S "GAME GETTER" MODEL 1908 COMBINATION GUN, .22/.410, LEGAL 18" BARREL

This is an original Model 1908 "Game Getter" Combination Rifle/Shotgun manufactured by in about 1914. The top barrel is chambered for the .22 rimfire cartridge and the bottom barrel for the 2 inch .410 shotgun shell. The Game Getter was offered in a variety of barrel lengths, had a skeleton folding stock, and a folding leaf rear sight mounted on the top frame. They came with a wooden box and shoulder holster. These were handy little camp guns and proved quite popular. A number of short barrel lengths were offered, as short as 8". Any Game Getter with a barrel shorter than 18" is an NFA firearm and can only be owned if registered as such. This gun has the legal 18" barrel. It is in very good condition. Traces of the factory blued finish remain on the barrels, but mostly they have a smooth brown patina. There is fine pitting visible in some areas. Some case color is visible on the frame, but is fading to a dark gray. The tubing of the folding butt stock retains most of its black paint. There are a few chips of the paint at the corners of the butt. The gun works well mechanically. The shotgun bore is excellent, bright and shiny. The .22 bore not so much. It is dark and rusted with some obvious wear and pitting. The black hard rubber grips are in fine condition with no chips or cracks. There are a couple of small dents in the checkering from use.
