VERY RARE C.R. ALSOP NAVY MODEL REVOLVER, .36 CALIBER

This is an original, Civil War Standard Navy Model Revolver manufactured by C.R. Alsop of Middletown, Conn. It is a .36 caliber, 5-shot percussion revolver with a 4" barrel. These were produced from 1862-1863 with only about 500 of all types produced. This revolver is in antique very good to fine condition. It retains about 30% of its factory blued finish. Most of this finish is on the cylinder and loading lever housing. The remainder of the gun has a brown-steel patina. The factory lettering remains visible. The gun works well mechanically. The bore is dark, but not terrible. The walnut grips are in very good condition. There is some wear on the edges of the bottom of the grips and a few dings and scratches overall. Very few of these revolvers have survived making them quite rare and desirable. Stock no. 26838
