FINE FRENCH MAS MODEL 1949/56 RIFLE, 7.62 NATO
Description :
This is a French Model 1949/56 Rifle manufactured by Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Étienne (MAS). Originally chambered for the 7.5x54mm French cartridge this rifle has been converted to fire the 7.62mm Nato (.308 Win.) cartridge. These conversions were done by Century Arms. The Model 1949/56 was made from 1949 until 1965, at which point it was replaced by the FAMAS Bullpup Assault Rifle. This rifle is in fine condition with about 85% of its factory dark gray phosphate finish remaining. There is some light finish wear on the high points of the gun with a little heavier wear on the grenade launcher and front sight. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in fine condition with just a few small dings from use. There are tiny importer marks on the left side of the receiver. This is a very nice example of the MAS 49/56 rifle. Stock no. 26948
