Here is an original Marlin XX Standard 1873 Pocket Revolver. It is a 7-shot tip-up design. The XX designation refers to the .22 long caliber. Approximately 10,000 of these were produced from 1873 to 1887. Marlin produced no pistols after 1899, focusing on rifles and shotguns in the 20th century. This revolver is in very good antique condition. It retains about 30% of its original factory nickel, most of which is on the frame. There is some dark speckling and light pitting on the barrel and cylinder. The mechanics work very well. The bore and chambers have some rusting, but the rifling is visible. The rosewood grips are in fine condition with just a small worn area on the right grip. If you are a Marlin fan, you should have one of their early pistols in your collection. Stock no. 25980
