.40 Caliber, smoothbore, turn barrel pistols by Berleur (1770-1815). Center hammer. Both are in identical condition, smooth gray patina with crisp markings, German Silver escutcheon on wrist. Simple one piece walnut grips in fine condition. One pistol barrel turns easily. Missing Half cock. Other pistol barrel frozen on frame, has perfect mechanics. These are commonly called "Muff" pistols but are more likely vest pistols. Very handsome pair of original flintlock pistols by a very good gun smith.
