Here is an original, Argentine Model 1879 Rolling Block Rifle manufactured by Remington Arms Co. and chambered for the .43 Spanish cartridge. The rifle includes the original ramrod and a correct sword bayonet. This rifle is in very fine condition. All of the Argentine Rolling Blocks released for sale were arsenal refinished, as is the case here. The rifle retains 98% of its blued finish with just a touch of finish wear on the barrel bands. The Argentine markings on the top flat of the barrel are crisp and clear. The Remington markings on the tang are visible but faint. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The action works perfectly. The bore is excellent as well, bright and shiny, with strong rifling. The rear sight, one of the best ever used on a Rolling Block, is in perfect condition. The stock is in very fine condition with just a tiny ding or two from use. The cleaning rod is finished bright. The bayonet is in very good condition. It is German made by Kirschbaum of Solingen. The blade has fine pitting overall, a little heavier towards the point. The brass handle has been lightly cleaned. This is one of the better Argentine Rolling Blocks I have seen. The tight action and great bore should make this a good shooting rifle. Stock no. 24925
