Description :
|
Here is a Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 21 Double Action .44 Special Revolver manufactured in 1955. Built on the "N" frame, this revolver is technically known as the ".44 Hand Ejector Fourth Model or Model of 1950 Military". These were made from 1950 until 1966. This is a rare revolver, with only about 1200 produced. It has a 4" barrel and a 5-screw frame. It is in very fine condition with about 95% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is some light holster wear at the muzzle of the barrel and on the high forward edges of the frame and ejector shroud. There is a thin drag line on the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain nearly all of their case colored finish. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are excellent. The checkered walnut, diamond escutcheon grips are in very fine condition as well. Included is a Smith & Wesson factory letter, signed by historian Roy Jinks verifying the rarity, date of production, and that the revolver is as shipped in 1955. If you favor a revolver as a carry gun, you can't beat the stopping power of the .44 Special. Stock no. 24947
