EARLY COLT PRE-BAN SP-1 CARBINE (CAR-15), .223

This is a Colt SP-1 Carbine chambered for the .223 cartridge. Manufactured about 1980, this is a pre-ban gun. The carbine version of the AR-15 (CAR-15) featured a 16" barrel, ribbed handguard, and a collapsible buttstock with a gloss black finish. Produced from 1963-1984, these earlier guns had no case deflector or forward assist. The carry handle is integral with the receiver and not removeable. This carbine is in excellent condition with nearly 100% of its black phosphate finish remaining. There are just a couple of tiny scratch marks on the left side of the barrel. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The collapsible butt and composite pistol grip and handguard are all in excellent condition as well. Included is one original, Colt manufactured 20-round magazine, cleaning rod and chamber brush, and the original manual. This is an outstanding SP-1 Carbine in great condition. Stock no. 25057
