WWII, INLAND DIVISION U.S. M1 CARBINE, .30 CALIBER
Description :
Here is an original, WWII, U.S. M1 Carbine manufactured by the Inland Division of General Motors in 1943 in their first block of production. It is chambered for the .30 caliber carbine cartridge. The gun is a typical Post-WWII rebuild with an adjustable rear sight, bayonet mount, and flip safety. The parts are from a mixture of manufacturers. The trigger housing is a Standard Products part. The carbine is in very good condition with about 70% of its parkerized finish remaining. There is some overall finish wear. The butt plate and the trigger guard are developing a brown patina. The barrel, slide, and bolt have some spotting of brown patina from old surface rusting that has been removed. The barrel date is "5-43". The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in very good condition with the usual small dings from use. There is a remnant of the cartouche on the right side of the butt. I believe it is an S'G' cartouche. This is a good shootable example of the M1 Carbine as used in the Korean War. Stock no. 25015
