This is a WWII, German MP40 Submachine Gun blank firing replica. Made by Schoessler Supply Room for movies and reenactments, it is designated a BFONG for Blank Firing Only Non Gun. It is not classified as a firearm and can NOT be altered to fire live ammunition. Attempting to do so will result in serious injury or death! The gun uses a dedicated 9.3mm blank cartridge that is currently available from Atlantic Wall Blanks or Motion Picture Blanks, Inc. It uses a unique firing mechanism that actually feeds the blank cartridge backwards. Tha modified magazines must be loaded with the cartridges facing backwards. The barrel is blocked. This gun is in very fine condition. It is built using parts from an original MP40 made by Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG ( "bnz" code) of Steyr, Austria in 1942. It has about 98% of its black finish remaining with just a little flaking on the trigger guard. I can not speak to the functioning of the gun. I read mixed reviews online with some swearing they work well and others just swearing! This one is clean and in great condition. Included are 11 modified magazines, two replica blue canvas mag pouches, two replica green canvas mag pouches, a replica sling, a mag loading tool, and an additional magazine housing for the gun.
