Item :	COLT MODEL 1902 MILITARY .38 ACP PISTOL, 1908 MFG.

Here is an original, Model 1902 Military Pistol manufactured in 1908 and chambered for the .38 ACP (.38 Rimless Smokeless) cartridge. Please note that this is a different cartridge than the .380 ACP or the .38 Super. The Model 1902 Military is similar to the Model 1902 Sporting Pistol, but features a lanyard swivel on the bottom rear of the left grip and a lengthened grip that accommodated one more cartridge in the magazine. It was produced from 1902 until 1929. The U.S. Military evaluated this pistol, but decided that they wanted a .45 caliber design. This pistol is in fine condition with about 80% of its bright factory blued finish remaining. There is some holster wear at the muzzle and along the upper edges of the slide. There is heavier finish wear on the front and rear grip straps and on the trigger guard. The grip straps have a speckling of brown patina. There are some very tiny little scratches and dings in the blued finish from use. The pistol has the shorter round "stub" hammer that was used until 1908. The hammer retains most of its case colored finish. The pistol has excellent mechanics and a fine bore with sharp rifling along its length. The hard rubber grips are complete and in very fine condition. The original magazine is in very fine cindition as well. This is a great example of the Colt M1902 Military Pistol. Stock no. 24690
