Item :	Superb, WWII, Remington Rand Model 1911A1 .45 Pistol

Description :

Here is an original, WWII, U.S. Model 1911A1 .45 Automatic Pistol manufactured by Remington Rand in 1944. The M1911A1 was the standard U.S. sidearm of WWII and the Korean War. Though not marked, this pistol has undergone an arsenal rebuild. It is in excellent condition with about 98% of its parkerized finish remaining. There is just a hint of finish wear on the exposed edges of the frame and slide and a small spot on the trigger guard. There is some slight scuffing where the slide stop has been removed during a disassembly and on the checkering of the mainspring housing. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The grips are the correct Keyes Fibre Company grips with a ring around the screw holes. The grips are in excellent condition. During the rebuild the mainspring housing was replaced. This pistol should have a serrated mainspring housing rather than the checkered type. This one appears to be an early WWII Colt manufactured housing. Included is one WWII blued magazine in very fine condition, There is one tiny discolored spot on the floor plate of the magazine. This is an outstanding example of a WWII Remington Rand .45 Auto Pistol. Stock no. 24626
