Description :
|
This is an original, Webley-Government Model Revolver manufactured in the late 1880's or early 1890's and chambered for the .455/476 cartridge. The W.G. revolver is often erroneously referred to as the Webley-Green. This large frame, double action, commercial break top revolver was produced from 1885 into the very early 1900's. The Webley-Government was a popular choice among British Officers required to purchase their own uniforms and kit. Many served in the Second Boer War and World War I. This revolver is in very fine, original condition. It retains about 95% of its factory blued finish. Their is some light holster wear on the cylinder, top strap, and barrel rib. There is a light drag line on the cylinder. The trigger and hammer are finished bright. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are excellent. The bird's head style grips, made from hard rubber, are in excellent condition as well. Included is a correct, military officer's flap holster and braided lanyard. The holster is a rich, russet brown. It is in very fine condition with tight stitching and no damage. This is a truly great example of the W.G. Webley-Government Revolver. Stock no. 24205
