SPRINGFIELD ARMORY M1A RIFLE W/ BIPOD & ACCESSORIES

This is an M1A Rifle built by Springfield Armory Company and chambered for the 7.62mm Nato (.308 Winchester) cartridge. This rifle is built using mostly military parts, including the stock. The stock has the DOD cartouche and "P" firing proof. The rifle is in very fine condition with about 98% of its parkerized finish remaining. There is some light finish wear on the operating rod and bolt. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is very fine with just a few very small dings and scratches from use. Included is an original, military M2 Bipod (It's fitted backwards. The new owner can fit it correctly!). There are also two additional magazines, two U.S. military magazine pouches, and an un-issued M6 bayonet made by Imperial with its original box. The military sling is marked "MRT" over "Feb. 1952". These early M1A rifles, built with military parts, are top quality. The military stock is more slender and, to me, feels better in the hand than the newer production stocks. Stock no. 23940
