Here is an original, U.S. M-1D Garand Sniper Rifle manufactured at Springfield Armory. Originally built in November of 1942, the rifle was rebuilt as an M-1D in the 1950's. This rifle was one sold through the DCM. It has an original M84 scope, but the scope mount is a reproduction. All other parts and accessories appear to be original. The rifle is in very good condition. There is some very light wear of the parkerized finish. It is a bit heavier on the gas cylinder. The Springfield Armory barrel was made in July of 1951. It gauges "1" at the throat and "1" at the muzzle. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in good condition with the usual small dings and scratches associated with use. The M84 Telescopic Sight is in very good condition with clear optics. The rifle is fitted with a leather, lace on cheek piece marked "MRT" and a "Hart" manufactured M2 Flash Hider. The original M1 web sling is marked "MRT" over "JUNE 1952". This is a good looking rifle, with great mechanics and a good clear scope. Stock no. 23939
