Item :	JAPANESE TYPE B "BABY NAMBU" PISTOL & HOLSTER

This is an original, Japanese Type B Nambu Pistol chambered for the 7x20mm Nambu cartridge. Known by collectors as the "Baby Nambu", the Type B was a scaled down version of the earlier Type A. The Type B was about 3/4 the size of the Type A and fired a smaller cartridge than the standard 8mm Nambu cartridge. Nearly all of the Baby Nambus were manufactured at Tokyo Artillery Arsenal. While the pistol was never officially adopted by Japanese Armed Forces, nearly all were privately purchased by Japanese Officers. The pistols were quite expensive and never gained a lot of popularity. Only about 6,000 were produced. Alas, this pistol been re-blued. It is an early, well done, high luster blue. The pistol retains about 99% of this finish. There is a very small spot of surface rust near the muzzle. The pistol has excellent mechanics and a very fine bore. The wooden grips are in excellent condition, with no damage. One original magazine is included in fine condition. The pistol also has its original clamshell holster. It is in very fine condition, complete, with tight stitching. The Baby Nambu is a rare, hard to find pistol in any condition. Though refinished, this is a great looking gun that will help complete any collection of Japanese arms. Stock no. 23943
