Here is a Colt Government Model .45 Automatic Pistol manufactured in 1932. The Government Model was the Commercial version of the Model 1911 and later the Model 1911A1 Pistol. The M1911A1 was adopted in 1924 and after this the Government Model was made in this configuration. This pistol is in fine condition, but the grips have been replaced. The pistol retains about 85% of its original factory blued finish. There is some light holster wear on the high points of the front of the slide and frame. There was a very light speckling of surface rust that left tiny freckles of patina behind. The front grip strap shows the most finish loss, where you can see some missing blue finish and the faint outline of someone's fingers. Mechanically, the pistol is excellent. The bore is very fine with strong rifling. As stated, the grips and grip screws are modern replacements and are like new. These pre-WWII Colt Government Models are of the finest quality and truly great looking pistols. This is a nice example with a lot more finish than most, but not so nice that you would not want to shoot it. If you want to carry a .45 with class, this one might be your ticket. Stock no. 23710
