1958 MFG. COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL .45 REVOLVER

Here is a 2nd generation Colt Buntline Special Single Action Revolver manufactured in 1958 and chambered for the .45 Long Colt cartridge. Only about 3,900 of these were made from 1957-1975. The 12" barreled "Buntline Special" is the stuff of legend, supposedly created by publisher and journalist Ned Buntline for Wyatt Earp. This story has largely been discredited by historians, but the legend remains. This revolver is in excellent, unfired condition. It is in a glass fronted display case with an etched Colt logo on the lower left corner of the glass. The gun retains 100% of its blued and case colored finish. The bore and mechanics are perfect. There is a small, shallow scratch on the left grip panel. The glass of the case has broken along the right edge. It is mostly concealed by the wooden edge of the case, but there is a chip visible on the lower right corner. The case is lined in blue baize. This is a beautiful 2nd Generation Colt Single Action in superb condition. Stock no. 23557
