Item :	SPANISH UGARTECHEA ENGRAVED SXS 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN

Here is a fine 12 gauge double barrel, side-by-side shotgun made by Ugartechea of Spain. The firm of Ignacio Ugartechea was founded in 1922 and was Spain's oldest producer of side-by-side boxlock and sidelock shotguns. This gun was imported by Firearms International of Washington, DC. Firearms International was acquired by Garcia Sporting Goods around 1970, so this shotgun probably dates to the 1960's, and possibly from the 1950's. This is a high grade gun with heavy engraving and case colored boxlocks and receiver. The barrels are 27 5/8" long with the chokes listed as modified and full. It is chambered for a 2 3/4" shell. It is an American style shotgun with a checkered pistol grip and checkered beavertail forearm. The gun is in very fine to excellent condition, retaining nearly 100% of its factory blued and case colored finishes. The bores and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in fine condition. There is a scratch on the right side of the butt. Unfortunately, the stock has been fitted with a Pachmayr rubber recoil pad. Fortunately, it is a professional installation and not a hack job. This is a beautiful shotgun of very high quality. With a name like Ugartechea, it has to be good! Stock no. 23241
