Description :
|
Here is a Winchester Model 1894 Rifle manufactured in 1907 and chambered for the scarcer .32-40 cartridge. This rifle has a 26" round barrel and crescent butt plate. This rifle is in very good to fine condition. It retains about 60% of its factory blued finish. The barrel and magazine tube retain most of their blue. The blue is turning to a plum color on the barrel. The receiver and nose cap are a smooth brown. There is light overall wear on the high points of the gun. The butt plate has silvery patina. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The bore is a dark and frosted, but there is visible rifling along its length. It desperately needs a good scrubbing. The stock is very good with the usual small dings and scratches associated with a 110 year old rifle. The Model 1894 is the world's most popular sporting rifle and the early examples are particularly well made. Stock no. 23220
