Item :	WWII, WALTHER KKW .22 MAUSER TRAINING RIFLE

Here is an original, Walther KKW .22 caliber Training Rifle patterned after the K98k Mauser Infantry Rifle. It is chambered for the ".22 Lang fur Buchsen" cartridge, which I believe is .22 long rifle. These rifles were used for training in the days leading up to WWII. They were made to approximate the feel and function of the service rifle. They were popular with the SA and can be found with these markings on the stock. This rifle is not marked. The rifle is in very fine condition, but the stock has been duffel cut and repaired. The cut is between the nose cap and the front band. GI's would cut the stock to make the rifle fit in their duffel bags when they returned home to the states. Regrettable, but there it is. The rifle retains more than 95% of its original factory blued finish. The bolt bayonet lug, and butt plate remain armory bright. Both the mechanics and the bore are excellent. With the exception of the duffel cut, the stock is in beautiful condition with just a couple of tiny dings and scratches from storage. The cleaning rod is not real. It is a short piece of rod made to approximate the original, and will not go past the stock repair. The rifle has the Walther banner and "KK Wehrsportgewehr" on the receiver. These Walther training Rifles are extremely well made and fairly scarce. Even with the unfortunate duffel cut, this is a great rifle. Stock no. 23165
