WWII, U.S. SMITH-CORONA MODEL 1903-A3 RIFLE

This is an original, WWII, U.S. Model 1903-A3 Rifle manufactured by Smith-Corona in late 1943 and chambered for the .30-06 Government cartridge. The Model '03-A3 was a simplified version of the Model 1903 Rifle that incorporated a number of stamped parts to speed production and decrease manufacturing cost. It also featured an updated aperture sight mounted on the rear of the receiver. This rifle is in very fine condition. It retains more than 95% of its original factory parkerized finish. The bolt, barrel bands, and swivels are blued and retain nearly all of their finish. There is a bit of finish wear on the bolt. The butt plate has about 80% of its blued finish remaining. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a very fine bore. The 4-groove Smith-Corona barrel is dated "10-43". Unfortunately, the stock has been lightly sanded and varnished. It is in fine condition with just a couple of tiny dings, but no markings remain. This is a nice '03A3, perfect for a shooter or reenactor. Stock no. 23043
