WWII, KAR98K MAUSER RIFLE, "DOU" CODE, W/ BAYONET

This is an original, WWII, Kar98k Mauser Rifle manufactured by Waffenwerke Bruenn, Bystrica, Czechoslovakia (dou code) in 1944. I believe this is one of the Mausers refurbished and sold by Mitchell's Mausers. It has probably been refinished and the stock redone. It is in beautiful condition, retaining more than 95% of its redone finish. The numbers all match, but the parts other than the receiver have been force matched (restamped). The receiver markings are crisp. The rifle has an excellent bore and mechanics. The stock is in fine condition with just a few tiny dings and scratches from use. The bayonet is in very fine, original condition with about 95% of its factory blued finish remaining. It was made in 1940 by E. & F. Hoerster of Solingen (asw code). The scabbard number does not match the bayonet number. The frog is nicely marked and dated 1941. The sling is a well made replica. This is a great Mauser for a reenactor or shooter. Stock no. 22851A
