HOPKINS & ALLEN .31 POCKET PERCUSSION REVOLVER
Description :
Here is a Hopkins & Allen .31 caliber Pocket Revolver manufactured about 1867. This is actually a Third Model Bacon Pocket Revolver. Hopkins & Allen took over the firm's factory in 1867 and continued production under their own name. This is a 5-shot percussion revolver with a 4" round barrel. Only about 1,000 pistols of this variation were made. This revolver is in antique good condition. It is has some fine pitting overall that has been cleaned to a speckled steel-gray patina. The mechanics work pretty well, but the cylinder stops just a hair short of locking. You can then turn it just a fraction of an inch and it will click into place. The bore is dark, but has visible rifling along its length. The grips are good, but show significant wear. The right grip has what looks like a burn that has been worn smooth. Stock no. 22866
