Item :	MAUSER "42" CODE P.08 LUGER, 1939 MFG.

Description :

This is an original, WWII, German P.08 Luger Pistol manufactured by Mauser ("42" Code) in 1939. Included is a WWI era black leather holster that was captured with the pistol. Chambered for the 9mm Parabellum cartridge, the P.08 was a standard German sidearm in both World Wars. This pistol is in very good to fine condition. The gun retains about 70% of its original factory blued finish. There is holster wear on the high points and some overall wear of the finish consistent with a gun that has seen a lot of use, but has not been abused. The pistol has an excellent bore and mechanics. The grips are in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. There are a few small dings in the checkering and some wear on the left panel around the grip screw. The holster is in good condition with good stitching all around. The holster's magazine pouch shows some heavy wear on the edges that has actually worn all the way through on the front edge. The inside of the flap has a nice maker's mark and 1917 date. The holster was made bu J.M. Eckart of Ulm-Donau.This is a nice representative example of a WWII Luger for your collection.
