WWI GERMAN MILITARY C96 BROOMHANDLE PISTOL
Description :
This is an original, Mauser C96 Broomhandle Pistol. Designated the Model 1896/12, this is a pre-war commercial Broomhandle with Imperial German Acceptance markings. The German military began purchasing these pistols in 1915. Generally fitted with a wooden shoulder stock, they were perfectly suited for the defense of fixed positions, such as those deployed by artillery and heavy machine gun crews. This gun has an Imperial acceptance crown marking on the right side of the barrel assembly. The pistol is in fine condition with all matching numbers. It retains 85-90% of its original factory blued finish. The gun has a fine bore and excellent mechanics. The grips are in very fine condition. There is a scratch on the bottom of the left grip panel. This is a very nice example of a WWI Broomhandle, one of the most prized trophies a Doughboy could bring home! Stock no. 22515
