Item :	VERY FINE, U.S. M-1 CARBINE BY UNDERWOOD

Description :

Here is an original, WWII, U.S. M-1 Carbine manufactured by Underwood in 1943. The gun was arsenal upgraded after the war to the current standard. The bayonet mount was added, an adjustable rear sight fitted, and the op rod, safety, and magazine release were updated. This is the configuration of carbines issued in the Korean War era. This carbine is in very fine condition. It retains more than 90% of its factory parkerized finish. There is a bit of finish wear at the muzzle and the trigger guard and housing show some wear as well. The gun has an excellent bore and mechanics. The stock is very fine. The wood is a nice dark brown and the handguard matches well. There is a large "P-U" stamped in the sling cut. The Underwood barrel is dated "7-43". Included is an original post war olive drab sling and an over the stock magazine pouch. The Mag pouch is of the late war OD green color. It is marked and dated, but I can not make out the date. Both the sling and pouch are in very fine condition. This is a very clean example of a post-WWII issue carbine. Stock no. 22395
