Item No.: 8415 Price : SOLD
Description :
This is an original, WWII U.S. M-1 Garand Rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory in September of 1943. It is chambered for the .30-06 Government cartridge. The rifle retains all correct WWII parts, but has probably had a little restoration to get it back to its "as built" configuration. The color of the parkerized finish varies on some parts of the rifle. It does have the Battle Bar rear sight and an uncut op rod. All parts are of Springfield manufacture with correct drawing numbers. The stock has the correct "S.A." over "G.A.W." cartouche. The barrel is dated "9-43". The rifle is in very good to fine condition. It retains about 95% of its armory parkerized finish. There is a bit of wear on the gas cylinder. The mechanics are excellent and the bore very fine, shiny with strong rifling along its length. The barrel gauges "1" at the muzzle and "1" at the throat. The stock is in fine condition, with just a few small dings and scratches from use. The stock cartouche is faint but visible. The "P" proof on the wrist is strong, but the circle around it is weak. The "P" may have been restruck. Included is an original, leather Model 1907 Sling made by Milsco and dated 1943. One of the leather keepers is missing. M-1 Rifles with all WWII parts are difficult to find. Here is your chance to own the rifle George Patton called "The Greatest Battle Implement Ever Devised". Stock no. 21989
