FINE, BRITISH PATTERN 1801SEA SERVICE FLINTLOCK PISTOL
Description :
This is an original, Napoleonic Era, British Model 1801 Sea Service Flintlock Pistol of .60 caliber. If you are a fan of Patrick O'Brian, this is the pistol of Lucky Jack Aubrey and Dr. Stephen Maturin. At the cry "Boarders Away", many a Jack Tar leapt onto an enemy vessel clutching a cutlass in one hand and a P-1801 pistol in the other. This pistol is in fine condition with an overall smooth brown patina. The mechanics work well. The bore is dark, but mostly smooth. The stock is fine as well with the usual small dings and scratches associated with over 200 years of use and storage. There is a small chip at the back of the lock mortise and another near the ramrod entrance hole. This is a large pistol with a 12 inch barrel. It retains its original belt hook on the left side of the stock. #20641
