FINE, ALL MATCHING, 1915 DATED, GEWEHR 98 MAUSER BY ERFURT

This is an original, WWI, Gewehr 98 Infantry Rifle manufactured by Erfurt in 1915. It has all matching numbers and is in fine condition overall. This rifle retains about 60-70% of its factory blued finish. The trigger guard and floor plate are beginning to turn brown. The receiver and bolt remain bright, but the receiver has a very light speckling of brown with a couple of tiny pitted areas. The butt plate has a little heavier speckling of brown. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is fine as well, numbered to the gun, and it has a number of inspector stamps. There are a few small dings and scratches from use. Gewehr 98 rifles are rare in this condition and not often encountered.
