VERY FINE, ORIGINAL WWII, AS-BUILT, U.S. M1 GARAND RIFLE

This is an original, U.S. M1 Garand .30 caliber Service Rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory in May 1945. It is in original, as-built condition, with all the correct parts and a correct stock cartouche. It has never undergone an Arsenal re-build. It is in very fine condition, with more than 90% of its original parkerized finish remaining. The barrel is dated "5-45". The barrel and mechanics are excellent. The stock is very fine with almost no dings and a crisp "S.A." over "N.F.R." inspector's cartouche. There is a small filled area on the left side of the stock below the receiver. I believe a grenade launcher sight had been mounted there at on time and was removed. There is a number stamped on the right side of the butt along the butt plate. The rifle has lock bar sights and an uncut op rod. This is a superb example of an untouched WWII Garand.
