FINE, U.S. M1 CARBINE BY SAGINAW STEERING GEAR

This is an original, U.S. M1 Carbine. It was made during WWII by the "Saginaw Steering Gear" Division of General Motors. As with most WWII carbines, it was arsenal rebuilt at the end of the war to bring it up to standard and then placed in storage for future need. This one was given an adjustable rear sight, updated safety and mag release, and a bayonet mount. It was also re-stocked in an M2 style stock. It is in fine condition, with an excellent bore and mechanics. The metal retains most of its parkerized finish. The wood is an even dark brown with a few small dings from use. The stock and handguard match well. Included is one original, WWII, 15 round magazine and an original, late, military olive drab sling and oiler.
