Description :

|
.54 Caliber Smoothbore US Naval Handgun. Very Rare with less than 1,000 produced. In fairly good shape for seeing Naval Service and Service with the Confederacy. 8 1/2 Inch round barrel is mostly a smooth gray with only some moderate pitting around the large Confederate bolster. Bolster is pretty distinctive with the high fence in back. I believe it is the work of the Adams Shop in Richmond, Virginia. All of the parts are Roman Numeraled to match and this is very distinctive of Confederate work. Smooth gray lock is simply marked, "1831/USN" to the rear of the flat, mule eared smooth hammer. Iron furniture with original belt hook all have the same grayish patina. Pistol still retains it's original captive swivel ram rod. Very good solid, original stock shows use but not abuse. Rare pistol with Confederate History.
