1860 DATED SPRINGFIELD US MODEL 1855 RIFLE MUSKET

.58 Caliber Percussion US Martial Long Arm. Iron is a mixture of black and steel patina. Barrel is pretty smooth except for some moderate pitting around the top flat and bolster. No date on barrel. Clear VP Eagle Proofs on left flat. Lock is a deep plum color. Some light salt and peppering on the Maynard Priming Door but still has a good Eagle stamp. "1860" Date to the rear of the hammer. Springfield Marks in front. Lock works well but Maynard priming system is missing. Furniture such as bands, patchbox and trigger guard are a deep blackish patina with light salt and peppering as well, Bore is dark but has strong rifling. Original sling swivels and ramrod. VG Oil finished stock. No visible cartouches.
